Brief Description: Designed for those who have completed basic training and desire to develop and improve their skills.

Full Description: This course is designed for fire fighters who have completed the necessary basic training and want to improve their knowledge, skills, and abilities of the modern engine company. Topics include back to basics, hose loads, hose line stretches, engine company ladders, residential forcible entry, structural fireground techniques, limited staffing, fire dynamics, water mapping, air entrainment, and water supplies. Flashover Simulator and live fire evolutions are included in this course.

Directions to Location: Applicants who have never been to the State Fire Academy should use "4 State Street, Lewistown, PA" in their mapping program. After turning on to State Street, continue toward the sliding gate. Angled parking is to your right. Please report to the classroom building on the first day of the program, which is located on the State Fire Academy Campus with a street address of 1150 Riverside Drive, Lewistown PA, 17044

Resources Required: Participants are expected to provide their own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA). Students are also encouraged to bring note-taking materials.
